The important things you should know about your body

1. The tongue gives some indication of the presence of certain disorders
Therefore, you need to take good care of your tongue since it is among the only parts that can show if you have a disease or sickness. Its some sort of a holographic representation of the vital organs and parts of the human body by simply showing distinctive colors. You can then immediately tell if something wrong if your tongue is not bright red and coated with white which is the normal color of a healthy tongue. From bright red, you can tell if there is a pathological change in the body if the color gets darker like violet, blue or dark red. Additionally, you can also monitor your health through examining the tongue's shape. Thus you can also tell if the body is under cold or warm temperature or if it needs more or less of something by just checking the thin layer of the tongue.

2. The human fingernails is as hard as the beak of a bird.
Just like the bird's beak, our nails are made up of the same substance. Built up by rhamphotheca which are separate horny plates which in turn are made out of keratin which are proteins. Having the same purpose as the beak of the bird, the fingernails can also cut as well as tear objects. The same as our nails, the beak is constantly growing at an average of 1-3 inches per year.

3. Your big toes have two bones each while the rest have three
If you're wondering what the bones on the toes and fingers are called then it would be phalanges. As previously stated, the big toes have two bones while the rest have three. The bones dictates the arrangement of the fingers and toes. All of the fingers have almost exact the same size and height aside from the big toes. To see how much difference in bones your fingers have, you can simply bend them. You'll be surprised that the toes are unique. Your big toes also contain two bones, and your other toes contain three each.

4. The brain becomes more active during the night hours
There had been studies showing that the brain works more in the night compared in the day. In the time you sleep, your brain will be scanning all the information and details that you have gathered during the day. The brain actually doubles its functionality in the night when we sleep as compared to the day when we are awake. As a result, we often have dreams in our sleep. Neurons controlled by the neuronal system is the one in charge of our sleep and wake. It would then transmit all information from the medulla to your forebrain. In turn, the body sleeps while the work is wide awake working.  ( Read some interesting facts about animals at Animal Facts )

5. Concrete can not match the strength of your thighs

Compared to concrete, the bones are known to be much stronger. Consequently, if bones are stronger than concrete then the thigh bones are the strongest bones in the system. The thigh bones are the connectors of the hip and the knees. It amazingly supports our whole body.
